EDER 671—Winter 2003

My name is Brigitte Lépine and I've been living in Calgary for the past 16 years; I am originally from Québec, born in Montréal. I'm married and have a son of 18 years old and a daughter of 5 1/2 months, so lots of fun!! I enjoy bike riding, kayaking, canoeing, camping and many other outdoor activities.

I'm enrolled in the Educational Technology Program and I take it through distance. I decided to do my program through distance because I wanted experience learning online myself. I am interested in instructional design and the use of the Internet and the online learning possibilities. I'm taking my 9th and 10th course this semester. But, I took one full course on campus before entering the program.

I'm currently in maternity leave from Bow Valley College where I supported the design and the development activities (using WebCT) of the curriculum development team. Before that I was an elementary teacher in the French Immersion Program where I taught and subbed for 6 years.

I gave many workshops related to how to use technology at the school and district level and, I taught some Web Pages Design courses in Continuing Education at U of C. I also have created many web sites.

My most memorable story is the day of my thirteenth birthday. It was a Friday and my family was in the country for the Christmas holidays... That day my mother and my brothers we all went skiing. My Dad was coming back from the city with one of my friend -it was a surprise... Anyway during that day I managed to brake a leg. It was quite a chock to my Dad ...and to my friend who was coming to visit me. I will always remember the day I turned 13!
