Instructional development is a broad term encompassing all of the
activities from analysis through design and development of a solution.
Instructional Development evolved from the fields of Systems Theory,
Learning Theory and Instructional Media. As such, this course will
focus on the activities involved in instructional development (ID).
Specifically, we will discuss the Origins of ISD, ISD Models, Needs
Assessment, Task Analysis, Assessment Procedures, Media Selection
and Program Evaluation.
By the end of this course, you will be able to do the following:
- Explain the difference between Instructional Design and Instructional
Development
- Explain the purposes of each phase in the generic ISD Model
- Conduct a Needs Assessment and Task Analysis
- Develop Constraint and Resource Analysis and Select Instructional
Media
- Conduct Formative Evaluations of Training/Educational Programs
